BS Biology, Pacific Lutheran University
PhD Ecology and Evolution, Louisiana State University

Research Interests:

Joanna Griffiths (personal website) is a postdoctoral researcher (co-advised by Dr. Andrew Whitehead). Before joining the lab, she received her PhD at Louisiana State University with Dr. Morgan Kelly. During her PhD, Joanna worked on three species of marine invertebrates (corals, oysters, and copepods) to determine their evolutionary responses to climate change. At UC Davis, she is using quantitative genetics and physiology to explore the mechanistic basis of variation in thermal tolerance of hatchery-reared and wild Delta smelt, a critically endangered fish.
