Research Interests: Historic pollution, overfishing, and impacts of climate change have caused wild fish stocks of many species to plummet and could eventually lead to ecosystem collapse in many instances. My current research interests lie in utilizing techniques and technologies from aquaculture to study threatened fish species in controlled conditions in an effort to better understand their tolerances to both natural and anthropogenic stressors throughout different life history stages. Previously, my research focused on integrated multitrophic aquaculture (IMTA) and its potential in improving commercial aquaculture sustainability, specifically in the Gulf of Mexico/Caribbean region.
