Degrees: B.S. Fisheries and Wildlife Conservation Biology with a minor in Applied Ecology, North Carolina State University, Raleigh, NC (2016)
Nyob Zoo (Hello)! I’m a proud first-generation Hmong American. In my language the word Hmoob (Hmong) means “Free”. I’m from Albemarle, NC and I love everything that deals with fish! I don’t really have a concentrated research interest because I want to do it all!
I was blessed to have great mentors and professors who helped me shape my career. During my undergrad I mostly concentrated in fisheries management (inland and costal) but I have a wide range of fisheries ecology experience. I have helped conduct many studies such as Caribbean estuarine predatory fish and Caribbean anadromous fish, sport and non-sport fish age and growth studies, population dynamics, telemetry, mark and recapture, influences of non-native fishes on native fish species, and many more.
My undergraduate career video!
